TEHNOLOGY

Tracțiune integrală simetrică (AWD)

Symmetrical AWD is the term used to describe Subaru's exclusive, symmetrical, permanent 4-wheel drive transmission. This unique system, coupled with the Boxer engine, has been at the heart of the brand's technological development since the introduction of the world's first 4WD sedan forty years ago, the Subaru Leone 4WD. The entire system, from the longitudinal engine with horizontally opposed cylinders to the rear differential, is arranged symmetrically around the car's geometric axis of symmetry. The extraordinary performance guaranteed by the greater balance of this system combines with the great traction of 4WD, all to the advantage of limited body roll, thus providing maximum stability in all situations. In dynamic terms, the result is a homogeneous vehicle behavior combined with improved ride comfort, making the journey more enjoyable for all passengers. The Subaru Symmetrical AWD system comes in different types depending on the car model and transmission, automatic or manual.
In front-wheel drive and rear-wheel drive vehicles, where power is not distributed to all 4 wheels, as in the S-AWD system, excessive loads can be exerted on the drive wheels. This causes lateral forces to come into play when cornering, and poor traction can cause the drive wheels to dramatically turn outward. In contrast, S-AWD systems distribute power to all four wheels equally. This creates neutral handling and there is no loss of grip in the direction of travel of the vehicle, even when cornering. If one wheel starts to lose traction on a slippery surface, the other three drive wheels are able to compensate by providing the necessary traction. Compared to cars with only front or only rear drive wheels, you have more traction and therefore greater safety. For the same power output, acceleration is also better when you have four-wheel drive than when you have only two. In addition, with Symmetrical AWD, which is a Subaru exclusive, the entire system can be mounted lower on the vehicle. Having a low center of gravity directly affects the vehicle's cornering stability. These AWD features ensure more stable behavior in various driving conditions, allowing you to drive with more peace of mind. This exclusive configuration is simply much more advanced in terms of stability, both on back roads and on the highway, and when the type of surface varies. Drivers no longer have to strain too much when driving and therefore do not tire as easily. This is another important aspect of Subaru safety in preventing
It is an S-AWD system installed on models with manual transmission. This type of drive consists of a center differential and a viscous limited-slip clutch. Under normal conditions, torque is distributed 50:50 between the front and rear. This maximizes traction and ensures great basic stability. When the front or rear wheels slip and traction is lost, the viscous coupling takes care of maintaining the optimal distribution of torque between the front and rear axles. Combined with the flexibility of the manual gearbox, it provides sporty handling, always maintaining maximum available traction.

TEHNOLOGY

EyeSight

Subaru believes in 360° safety and is fully committed to minimizing the risk of accidents. That's why we created the advanced driver assistance system Subaru EyeSight . This system uses two stereo cameras to capture three-dimensional color images with excellent recognition ability, similar to that of the human eye. Using images from both cameras, EyeSight recognizes the shape, speed and distance of vehicles, motorcycles, bicycles and pedestrians. When it detects a potential hazard, the system warns the driver and, if necessary, applies the brakes to avoid accidents. With enhanced safety features, EyeSight increases the sense of protection you feel in your car.
When the car starts to swerve and skid, leaving the lane, the Lane Sway Warning system warns the driver by sounding an audible tone and flashing a warning light. This system is only activated above a speed of approximately 60 km/h. However, if you are driving at more than 50 km/h and the car tends to leave the lane without the driver having activated the turn signal, the Lane Departure Warning system activates an alert with
The EyeSight system doesn’t simply maintain the speed selected by the driver like traditional cruise control. When it detects a car in front, Adaptive Cruise Control, which monitors the distance and speed of the car in front, varies the speed to maintain a constant safe distance between the two cars. It manages the engine, transmission and brakes to ensure the car’s speed matches that of the flow of traffic, at any speed from 0 to 180 km/h. Designed for use on motorways and other expressways, Adaptive Cruise Control recognises the vehicle in front and its brake lights and adapts to changes in busy motorway traffic to ensure maximum fuel efficiency and comfort on long journeys.
When stopped in traffic and the EyeSight system detects resumption of traffic, Lead Vehicle Start Alert warns the driver with an audible signal and a flashing light.
When driving on motorways and main roads, Lane Keep Assist monitors road markings with a video camera and detects when the vehicle starts to drift out of its lane. At speeds of around 65 km/h or above, the system applies steering assistance to prevent you from drifting out of your lane.
When it detects an imminent collision with a vehicle or other obstacle in front of the car, the pre-collision braking system warns the driver with an audible signal and a warning light on the dashboard. If the driver does not react to avoid the collision, the system automatically brakes to limit the impact or, if possible, prevent the collision altogether. If the driver attempts an evasive maneuver, the pre-collision braking assist can help prevent a collision.
If you shift into forward instead of reverse when the car is stationary and the EyeSight system detects an obstacle ahead, Pre-Collision Throttle Management emits multiple warning signals, flashes a light in the dashboard and reduces power to help avoid a frontal collision.
Thanks to this system, all EyeSight system functions are projected, via the high-brightness LED system, onto the windshield. This system allows the driver to monitor all EyeSight functions and activities without taking their eyes off the road.

Thanks to advanced technology such as Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and the Subaru Global Platform (SGP), the car offers quick steering response, excellent handling and superior stability, ensuring a high level of active safety. Thus, every journey becomes a comfortable and safe experience for all passengers.

Active Safety

The photochromic rearview mirror improves both comfort and safety while driving, automatically adjusting to reduce the intensity of light from vehicles following you. This way, you will avoid the discomfort and risks associated with the phenomenon of "dazzle" due to the headlights of cars coming from behind.
The Vehicle Dynamics Control system adjusts the distribution of AWD torque, engine power and braking force to each wheel in real time, ensuring optimal traction and increased stability on the road. With Active Torque Vectoring, which works by actively distributing torque between the front and rear wheels, as well as between the wheels on the right and left sides of the vehicle, cornering becomes easier. This system allows the driver to make quick and precise maneuvers, providing a more controlled driving experience.
Thanks to a low center of gravity, SGP and Symmetrical AWD, as well as improved suspension and higher torsional rigidity, Subaru vehicles respond quickly and precisely to driver commands. This helps you easily maneuver the car, especially in critical situations when you need to make evasive maneuvers to avoid accidents.

Advanced predictive safety systems like EyeSight make it easier to avoid hazards and accidents. Completely redesigned, EyeSight includes new advanced features that help you drive safely. This system improves visibility and safety at night by automatically adjusting the high beam headlights to traffic and road conditions. The system turns the headlights on and off to provide optimal illumination without disturbing other drivers, thus contributing to safer driving in low light conditions.
The Reverse Automatic Braking (RAB) system helps prevent accidents when reversing. Using four sensors located on the rear bumper, it detects any obstacles in the vehicle's path. If an obstacle is identified, the system warns the driver with an acoustic signal and automatically brakes to prevent a collision or reduce the force of the impact, providing additional protection during reversing maneuvers.
The latest technology helps prevent accidents by detecting an imminent collision with a vehicle or other obstacle in front of the car. When the system identifies a hazard, the driver is warned by an audible signal and a warning light on the dashboard. If the driver does not react in time to avoid the collision, the system automatically applies the brakes to reduce the impact or, if possible, prevent the collision altogether. In addition, if the driver attempts an unsafe maneuver, Pre-Collision Brake Assist helps avoid the impact, providing an additional level of protection.
This system helps prevent dangerous lane departures by detecting vehicles in adjacent or approaching lanes. If there is a risk of a sudden lane change, the system emits an audible warning and activates the indicator, providing steering assistance to help the driver keep the vehicle on the correct trajectory, and safety, especially in heavy traffic conditions.
This technology intervenes when the pre-collision braking system cannot prevent an impact. Using the stereo camera and rear radar, the system identifies lane markings and analyzes whether there is enough space to avoid a collision. If it is safe to do so, the system will help avoid the accident by automatically activating the steering, thus contributing to additional protection in critical situations.
Lane Keeping Assist helps keep the vehicle on track, preventing dangerous lane departures. When it detects vehicles in an adjacent or approaching lane, the system sounds a warning chime and activates the turn signal, while also providing steering assistance to help the driver stay in their lane. In addition, Adaptive Forward Steering adjusts the steering based on the movements of the vehicle in front, ensuring a safer and more stable driving experience.
This technology helps prevent accidents by automatically adjusting the acceleration when the system detects an imminent collision. If an impact is anticipated, the system gradually reduces the acceleration to minimize the risk of an accident.
When Pre-Collision Braking Assist fails to intervene, Autonomous Emergency Steering uses the stereo camera and rear radar to identify lane markings and assess whether there is enough space to avoid a potential collision. If you can do so safely, the system helps avoid a collision by providing automatic steering assistance.
Subaru's Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control helps maintain a safe distance from the vehicle in front, automatically adjusting speed to prevent collisions. In addition, the system detects approaching vehicles or vehicles in the adjacent lane, activating an audible warning and flashing indicator. This alerts the driver and allows the system to assist in steering maneuvers to reduce the risk of dangerous lane departures.
